Cross River State - MDI Opens ICT Training and Development Centre

A centre for Information Communication and Technology (ICT) training and development has been established at the Management Development Institute (MDI) along Mary Slessor Avenue, Calabar.

Conducting Newsmen round the magnificent hall that serves as the training centre, the Permanent Secretary/Director-General of MDI, Mrs. Florence O. Ekefre disclosed that the centre was established to boost ICT compliance among workers in particular as well as the public in general.

Mrs. Ekefre advised those wishing to be trained in ICT to avail themselves of the facilities of the centre and explained further that the training exercise expected to last for six months would lead to the award of certificates, that would be recognized, approved, as well as guarantee employment opportunities for holders of such certificates.

She assured that the centre was well equipped and furnished with the state-of-the-art ICT facilities, which she noted would enhance a conducive atmosphere for teaching and learning.

The establishment of the centre, Mrs. Ekefre further explained, has also boosted the status of the Institute, which was poised towards attaining International standard, adding that for now, the centre had a range of ICT training programmes in Diploma, Certificate and Professional courses.
