Job Title: Senior Sales Account Executive

Location: Lagos, Nigeria

Employer: Blueprint Business Technologies (part of Blueprint Technology Group)

Job description:

•   In addition to selling products and services to existing customers and prospects, you will take responsibility for managing relationships with key (the company's most important customers) accounts. You will also take responsibility for mentoring newly recruited members of the sales team or representatives who are under-performing.

•   Candidate to take responsibility for building strong relationships with major customers to develop revenue and protect the company from competitive threats. Our major customers represent a significant proportion of our company's revenue, and as such the successful candidate must defend and prevent any possible loss of such customer. Candidate will arrange regular meetings with customer contacts to ensure they are satisfied with the service they receive and to discuss any possible problems. The executives also coordinate sales administration and customer service activities inside the company to maintain the highest standards of service.

Successful candidates' job responsibilities are as thus:

•   Achieving assigned sales targets

•   Prospecting and developing new client relationships within a defined geography or market

•   Consulting with clients on business issues and research design

•   Developing innovative proposals and delivering strategic sales presentations

•   Making actionable and insightful recommendations for new products, extensions, or enhancements

•   Managing and mentoring a team of Account Executives

•   Resolving sales or delivery issues

•   Sells products by establishing contact and developing relationships with prospects; recommending solutions.

•   Maintains relationships with clients by providing support, information, and guidance; researching and recommending new opportunities; recommending profit and service improvements.

•   Enhances staff accomplishments and competence by planning delivery of solutions; answering technical and procedural questions for less experienced team members; teaching improved processes; mentoring team members.

Desired Skills and Experience:

•   Candidate must have good analytical skills to understand the challenges and problems that customers face so they can identify opportunities for a sale. This requires excellent communication skills to deal with customers and prospects at different levels. You may have to present sales proposals to purchasing teams, including technical managers and finance executives, Directors as well as purchasing managers. You are also required to have good negotiating skills to secure sales that represent profitable business to the company

•   Comprehensive product and market knowledge is essential to this role as you build confidence with the customers by demonstrating an understanding of your business (products and solutions). The aim is to become trusted advisers, rather than just sales executives. Ability to learn quickly and transfer knowledge and sales skills to the new market is essential.

Requirements are:

•   7 to 9 years in a sales capacity

•   Experience with qualitative and quantitative sales methods

•   Outstanding written and oral communication skills

•   Superior business and negotiation skills

•   Extensive industry contacts

•   Ability and willingness to travel

•   Bachelor's degree is mandatory and advanced degree in business, mathematics, or the sciences—MBA is an advantage
