KWASU VC Conferred With LSN Fellowship

The Vice-Chancellor of the Kwara State University, Professor AbdulRasheed Na'Allah, has bagged the prestigious Fellowship of the Literary Society of Nigeria (FLSN).  This is in recognition of his scholarship in literature and service to the society.

A statement from the President of the Literary Society of Nigeria, Dr. E.B Adeleke, described Professor Na'Allah as an acclaimed Literature Scholar who has contributed immensely to the development of Literature the world over.  Professor Na'Allah, who is the Pioneer Vice-Chancellor of KWASU, was, prior to his appointment, the Chair, Department of African – American studies, Western Illinois University.  A Professor of African and African Diaspora Literatures, African and Comparative poetics and performance, Professor Na' Allah is the author of several books, including African Discourse in Islam, Oral Tradition and Performance, Cultural Globalisation and Plurality among others.

He is a recipient of several awards and honours, including the Cathy O'neil Couga award for outstanding leadership in diversity.  Other eminent Nigerians to be honoured with the fellowship of the FLSN are Professor Ernest Emenyonu, from Michigan – Flint University, Odun Balogun from Delaware University and Kanchana Ugbabe from University of Jos.

The Investiture of the fellow of the Literary Society of Nigeria (FLSN) has been fixed for March 5th 2014, at the Lagos State University Ojo, Lagos State.
