ASUP Strike Will Be Called Off – Zonal Chairman

The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) Zone D Chairman, Mr. Anderson Ezeibe has told poly students to get ready to go back to school as the strike embarked upon by the union is about to be called-off.

The Zonal Chairman ASUP said that the intervention of the National Assembly in the face-off between the lecturers and the government is the reason why there is a breakthrough in negotiations.

Ezeibe said that the major issues causing the industrial action are about to be resolved as the federal government's committee on BSC HND dichotomy has started working and their report will be ready soon.
.
He opined that the emergency ASUP National Executive Committee meeting which will hold this week is going to look at the progress of the negotiation and decide when the strike will be called-off.

We call on the leadership of ASUP not to disappoint the suffering students at home as they eagerly await a positive pronouncement.
