MAPOLY Student Sentenced To Prison For Internet Fraud

An undergraduate student of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY), Akinyele Akintayo, has been sentenced to nine months in prison for internet fraud by a Lagos High Court.

The student was arrested on March 21st, 2014 in Lagos by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for being in possession of fraudulent documents which he
allegedly intended to use to k perpetrat  i400adnternet fraud by sending mp essages to one Love Bessey, cloiming that hi  father had deposited the sum op f $5.6 million dollars in a hidden box with an@ insurance company.

The convict was sentenced by Justice Sedoten Ogunsanya after he was found guilty on three counts  harge under Section 318 of the Criminals Laws of Lagos, 2011.
