Obong University Gets NUC Approval To Offer 5 New Courses

The National Universities Commission (NUC) has approved the establishment of five new programmes at Obong University, Etim Ekpo Local Government Area, of Akwa Ibom state.

The five new programmes which is to be offered at the Bachelors level include; Public Administration, International Relations, Political Science, Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution, and Sociology.

The Commission in a letter signed by Dr Gidado Bello Kumo stated that the approval follows the resource evaluation visit to Obong University carried out by panels of experts from the commission with a view to assessing the human and material resources available for the establishment of the new programmes.

The NUC said after due consideration of the report submitted by the resource evaluation panel, the Management Committee at its 442nd meeting, had approved the establishment of five new programmes to be run at Obong University beginning from the 2015/2016 academic session.
