Pact in Nigeria is recruiting for the following position:

Title: Grants Officer
Requisition Number: 11-0036
Location: Abuja

Position Summary:
The Grants Officer will be responsible for the day to day administration of sub-grants under a proposed Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) Umbrella Grants Mechanism project.

Responsibilities will include:
•         Ensure proper interpretation and application of donor procedures and regulations.
•         Contribute to training on proposal development for grantees and field staff.
•         Participate in pre-award assessment of potential sub-grantees and/or partners.
•         Oversee all sub-grant functions and coordinate preparation of grant agreements, monitoring of grant periods and close out of the sub-grant awards.
•         Conduct financial reviews and project audits of grantees to ensure donor compliance. Take regulatory action as required.
•         Ensure budgetary controls of grantees and provide technical assistance to recipients.
•         Review and approve liquidation reports from sub-grantees.
•         Assist with data compilation and preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
•         Other duties as assigned by the Chief of Party or Director of Grants & Finance.

Qualifications:
•         Creative thinker, energetic team player.
•         Ability to work in partnership with team members, partner agencies and community members.
•         Excellent written and oral communication abilities.
•         Knowledge of USAID rules and regulations.
•         Strong computer (word processing and spreadsheet) literacy.
•         Fluency in English.
•         Willingness to travel extensively in Nigeria.

Education and Experience Requirements:
•         At least five years of progressively responsible experience in sub-grantee management and administration of large and small scale grants. Experience working with non-profit organizations and international donors required, USAID preferred.
•         Energetic team player who enjoys working with NGOs, civil society and faith based organizations and has managed large and small scale grants.
•         Bachelors or Master's Degree in field(s) relevant to fulfillment of the duties and responsibilities as described above.
•         Knowledge of the role of grants in development assistance.
•         Experience in auditing a plus.
