l strongly support the request of the National Democratic forum. Since Obasanjo has openly declared that, his successors have failed in the quest of tackling corruption in Nigeria, President Jonathan should take a bold step by allowing EFCC to probe Obasanjo's administration.

However, Nigeria's case bothers on "the power that be".

A democratic group, National Democratic forum, have requested the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, to probe Chief Olusegun Obasanjo's eight-year administration as the former President of Nigeria.

The chairman of the group, Mr. Jonathan Vatsa, questioned the modalities used by the EFCC to select its suspects.

Although, he praised the arrest of the former speaker of house of representatives, Dimeji Bankole. But wondered why Obasanjo had not been probed, despite allegations of corruption that trailed its administration.

"The intention behind the establishment of the EFCC is being defeated. This is because the EFCC goes after those whom the government has problems with, and had failed to discharge its responsibilities honestly without applying preferential treatment.

"Since the era of Obasanjo, the EFCC has been a hunting dog for the government. The eight years of Obasanjo's administration were full of corruption," he said

The group said, EFCC probing obasanjo will prove to Nigerians that, it is not selectively fighting corruption in the country.

This is indeed a good suggestion. Even though, Obasanjo had not made such statement, all past leaders in the country should be probed accordingly. They should give their account of stewardship but what do we expect when we have toothless bulldogs in power. A leader with good mission for Nigeria will not hesitate but to probe all that have ruled us in power. And if any is found guilty, he/she should be allowed to face the wrath of law. No sentiment!
