UNIZIK VC Lauds JAMB over UTME 2011

Nnmadi Azikwe University (UNIZIK) Vice-Chancellor has lauded the administration of Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) over the just concluded Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME 2011).

This was stated in the UNIZIK News Bulletin (Volume 4 Number 23) following his observations during the just concluded UTME after a comprehensive monitoring of centres under UNIZIK charge, the Vice-Chancellor, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Prof. Boniface C. E. Egboka has thumbed up so far.


Speaking to UNIZIK Bulletin after the exercise, the Vice-Chancellor observed that Nigerians are becoming wonderful, commending Registrar/Chief Executive of JAMB, Prof. Dibu Ojerinde for the arrangements that saw a successful examination with little complaints at UNIZIK Centres.

He expressed satisfaction with the University staff who worked during the exercise, "one is very happy our staff from various units, security, MICTU, etc performed very well.  Our security Unit and anti-cult Squad with the police, SSS and civil Defence provided a very tight security service", he said.

He informed that following the availability of space in UNIZIK and Igbariam Campus of Anambra State University, the students were screened and the examination taken with minor incidences rising from the biometric data capture machine which was effectively handled by the MICTU staff of UNIZIK at Awka Centres.

He however pointed out that only very few people were caught cheating and the necessary action was taken for reporting them to JAMB.  "This year's exercise is better than that of last year", he insisted.
