We will pay the new minimum wage - Akwa Ibom

Akwa Ibom State Government has promise to pay the new N18,000 minimum wage with effect from April this year.

The Acting Governor of the State, Mr. Nsima Ekere, made the announcement at the public service lecture to mark the 2011 public service week in Uyo.

Akwa Ibom State Government has taken a bond step, while other states of the federation are still battling with labour leaders in their various states, over the new N18,000 minimum wage.

l hope other states of the federation would follow suit and make the lives of civil servants worthy.
