Nigeria Flying Eagles thrashed tournament debutants Guatemala 5-0 in their first match of the FIFA U-20 World Cup, with the finishing prowess of Edafe Egbedi and an inspired performance from winger Ahmed Musa troubling the Central American defence.

The Flying Eagles came out looking to convince, assuming control through VVV-Venlo winger Ahmed Musa. The No7 troubled the Guatemalans all match long, distributing fine crosses into the Nigeria's double scorer Edafe Egbedi, scoring the first and second goals in the 8th and 39th minute. Other goals were scored by Abdul Ajagun, Olarenwaju Kayode and Ahmed Musa in the 47th, 53rd and 76th minute.
