Purpose of the Job:
Contribute to the implementation of the strategy for the Financial Advisory Unit, in line with the broader strategy of the Corporate Finance Department and the Bank

Main Responsibilities:
•   Originate financial advisory mandates
•   Contribute to the realization of the revenue and profitability budget for the financial advisory unit
•   Managing relationships with clients
•   Work closely with other advisory teams across the Standard Bank Group to identify cross border advisory opportunities
•   Execution financial advisory mandates to high quality standard and exceeding client expectations
•   Establish credibility with clients and prospects
•   Contribute to the development and training of members of the financial advisory team
•   Cross-sell the banks products and services

Required Skills, Qualifications and Work Experience:
•   First degree from a reputable university (minimum, second class upper division or equivalent)
•   Masters degree or relevant professional qualification
•   At least six years relevant financial advisory experience including demonstrable track record of pitching for and executing mergers and acquisitions, restructuring and divestitures.

Required Competencies
•   Knowledge of relevant Nigerian law and regulations including the Companies and Allied Matter Acts, the Investment and Securities Act, the Rules of the Securities and Exchange Commission and the listing requirements on of The Nigerian
•   Deep understanding of financial modeling, company and asset valuation, transaction structuring, negotiation
•   Excellent analytical skills
•   Good research capabilities and familiarity with research tools
•   Sound understanding of basic economic principles
