Alphastar Paints Industries Limited (APIL) is a key player in the paints manufacturing industry with headquarters in Bayelsa state & branch offices spread across the country, the company is currently seeking for dynamic, self motivated and highly-skilled professionals to occupy the following positions:

Job Title: Research and Development/Quality Assurance Manager (Ref: APIL/11/DM)

Job:
•   As a chemist, you will provide research experience, knowledge and expertise to develop and support new paints formulations using the best methods/techniques to investigate, identify, develop and optimize rheology of paint and other physical properties.

Main Responsibilities:
•   Planning and carrying out R&D for pigment pastes and other colour formulations.
•   Conducts research, analysis, synthesis and experimentation on substances for such purposes as paint products and process development and application, quantitative and qualitative analysis and improvement of analytical methodologies.
•   Develop new formulas, analyzes organic and inorganic compounds to determine chemical and physical properties.
•   Ensure all experimentation is focused towards agreed production needs as well as prepare progress reports and presentations.

Essential Requirement:
•   4+ years experience in a similar field, i.e. Chemical experience.
•   Colour formulation and pigment Pastes.
•   A strong knowledge of Paints and related products manufacturing operations/industry.

Desirables:
•   B.Sc, M.Sc (Chemistry/Biochemistry) or M.Sc (paint technology) or M.tech (paint technology), but focus will be on experience.
