Nicolas Sarkozy's wife is due to give birth

The wife of Nicolas Sarkozy (Carla Bruni) is due to give birth today. Crowds have gathered outside the Paris clinic where she is waiting to give birth. President Sarkozy also arrived at La Muette clinic but left after about 20 minutes to travel to Frankfurt for talks on the eurozone debt crisis. Mrs Bruni-Sarkozy has a son from a previous relationship - Mr Sarkozy has three sons from earlier marriages.
