Osun State government, under Ogbeni  Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola, has been  commended for its pragmatic approach towards preparing its work force for the enthronement of e-governance on the state.

Dr. Wale Bolorunduro, the state Commissioner for Finance, Economic Planning and Budget, gave this commendation when declaring open the Computer Appreciation Training Workshop, organized by his ministry for some selected officers.

According to the commissioner, training and re-training of officers is a sine-qua-non for efficient and effective service delivery in any organization, including the civil service.

He then noted that the training programme would serve as a good platform for the successful implementation of the six-point action plan of the present administration in the state.

Dr Bolorunduro also noted that the training programme was starting with the Ministry of Finance, just because of the key role it has to play in the implementation of a robust pay-roll system in the state.

The commissioner then went on to assure the state workers that on the part of the present administration in the state, necessary tools and conducive working environment would always be provided for them

The Permanent Secretary in the ministry, Mr. Biodun Akintaro, when appreciating the state governor and the Finance Commissioner for the timely approval of the new initiative, later used the opportunity to charge the participants at the workshop, to make effective and efficient use of the workshop period, to improve on their computer skills for the purpose of enhancing better performance.

He equally thanked them for sacrificing their weekends, noting that the idea was not to disrupt normal working days of the week.

The Managing Consultant of Shatinks Consults Limited, Chief Sina Mosobalaje, in his own remarks thanked the Finance Commissioner and the state government for the opportunity given his firm to handle the training programme. He then assured the participants of worthwhile training sessions.
