An Action Congress of  Nigeria (ACN) chieftain in Ilesa-East Local Government Council Area of Osun State, Mr. Michael Adeboye Asaolu, has lauded the efforts of Governor Rauf Aregbesola, to rid the state of armed robbers.

Asaolu, who spoke with OSUN DEFENDER Newspaper through telephone in Osogbo, last Thursday, said he observed that the present security arrangement has made the state a no-go area for hoodlums.

He enjoined all residents of the state to join hands with the governor in exposing criminals in the state.

The ACN chieftain explained that with the proactive approach of the Aregbesola administration to security issue, it means that government is laying the socio-political and economic foundation of new Osun State.

Asaolu also told the inhabitants of the state to always report any suspicious movement to security operatives without delay.

He noted that adequate surveillance and monitoring of the people's neighbourhood with partnering with relevant security agencies would further strengthen security in the state.

It would be recalled that armed robbers invaded some banks in some principal towns in the state few weeks ago.

Few days ago, the people of Osogbo, the state capital, and some other towns in the state, woke up to see battle-ready soldiers and mobile policemen taking positions in some areas in the state.

One unique attribute of the security operatives, is their civil approach to the people at check-points across the state.

The residents of the state have been going about their normal businesses without any fear of insecurity, since the Aregbesola administration tightened-up the security apparatus of the state.
