Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates into the following University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) Certificate Programmes of the institute of Education for the 2011/2012 sessions:

A.    TEACHER EDUCATION PROGRAMMES
Candidate wishing to obtain Certificate in Teacher education should apply to:

1.    Department of Educational Management
Education Social Sciences [for candiadates offering Economics, Accounting, Political Science and Geography]

2.    Department of Education Foundations
Education Arts [for candidate offering English, French, Religious Studies and History].

3.    Department Curriculum Studies & Educational Technology
Education Science [for candidates offering Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics and Computer Science].

B.    PROFESSIONAL PROGRAMMES
Candidates wishing to obatain Certificate in the Professional Programmesshould apply to:
1.    Department of Adult & Non Formal Education
2.    Department of Educational Psychology, Guidance and Couselling
3.    Department of Human Kinetics & Health Education

1.    ELEGIBILITY
The programmes are open to applicants who have any of the following minimum qualifications:
    Credit passes at the Ordinary level in, at least three(3) subjects in West African School Certificate/National Examination Council Certificate/NABTEB/General Certificate of Education
[iii]Credit or Merit passes in at least [3] subjects in Teacher's Grade Two.

Please note that the three credits must include passes in the area of study with at least a pass in English Language

Candidate for the Science Option must have 3 relevant Science subjects plus a credit in English Language in TCII, SSCE, NECO, NABTEB OR GCE to be eligible to apply.
All applicants hoping to transit to 4-Year Degree programme must possess 5relevant credits including English and Mathematics as well as have the National Minimum Score in the 2012/2013 Unified Tertiary Martriculation(UTME).

2.    METHOD OF APPLICATION
Application Forms can be obtained online on payment of non-refundable fee of N6500.00 (Six thousand ,five hundred naira ) only from Monday, 19th December,2011. Applicants should log on to www.uniport.edu.ng, click on ''e-Campus'' link to follow  Application Procedure for more information.

3.    CLOSING DATE:
The sale of Application forms will close on Friday, 2nd March, 2012.

4    APTITUDE TEST:
A University Aptitude Test will take place on saturday, 18th March, 2012. The Apptitude Test will be Computer Based(CBT).
