Job Title: National Consultant

Background:

•   The Microinsurance country diagnostic and stakeholder dialogue for Nigeria will be funded by the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM), the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) via GIZ Nigeria/SEDIN programme and GIZ/Making Finance Work for Africa (MFW4A).

•   It counts on the methodology and the in-kind contributions from the Access to Insurance Initiative.

•   A Steering Committee comprising 1-2 representatives of each of the sponsors, the Access to Insurance Initiative, and the Central Bank of Nigeria will be set up.

•   The Steering Committee will support implementation of the project, follow up on its progress and clarify outstanding questions.

About the Job:

•   This request for proposal (RFP) is for the services of International and National consultant(s) and an Insurance Core Principles (ICP) Expert/Consultant to conduct a microinsurance diagnostic study in Nigeria.

•   Applications are accepted from individual consultants applying for one of the roles mentioned below as well as from consultant teams that wish to apply as a team for all roles required.

•   Thus, applying consultants are invited to comment on the proposed timetable, to propose alternative ways to structure the assignment (e.g. through a combination of senior and junior experts) and/or to apply for the international/national parts only.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

•   Assist the consulting team with the Nigeria country diagnostic;

•   Support the information collection and the logistics of the country visit;

•   Facilitate access to key entities and individuals in Nigeria;

•   Providing local context for the analysis.
