Arewa Youth Parliament, an umbrella Legislative body of all Arewa Youth organizations has called on the 19 Northern state Governors to adopt a holistic measure to resolve the security challenges posed by Boko Haram insurgency.

In a statement signed by Bashir Maru in Kano Monday, The Youth parliament expressed worry that insecurity is gradually becoming a norm, and  way of life in the region, adding that the existing scenario can not bring about socio- economic development in the already impoverished region.

The statement lamented that the growing insecurity has cut the cord of unity among various socio-cultural grouping in the region, adding that 'time likes this call for self discovery to bail the region from what appears largely the inaction of the leadership.

The statement add, ' we no longer see ourselves as our brothers keepers but have turn our values to promotion of hatred and distrust instead  of love, mutual respect brotherliness, neighborliness and peaceful coexistence, all these and many more  was brought about by inept and corrupt military and political leadership over the years'.
