Calvin Kadi has spoken to KickOff.com about the reason behind his good form in the Greek second division.

The ex-Bidvest Wits striker, who played for Portuguese side Portimonense last season, has been in excellent form for Veria since he joined the club on a one-year deal at the start of the campaign.

"I have scored nine goals so far in 14 starts, but I missed a few games due to injury and I also got a red card for diving in the box, that's what the ref said," he says.

"I'm scoring goals because the thing I enjoy most here is I play in my normal and favorite position which is at centre forward. It is something that I didn't get in Portugal as I was played more on the wings so I guess that's one of the reasons I'm scoring goals here in Greece," says Kadi, who is third among the top scorers.

Like most South Africans plying their trade overseas, Kadi says he is anxiously waiting for a call from Bafana Bafana coach Pitso Mosimane.

"I actually thought it was Pitso who called me when I received your 011 missed call during the day," he laughs.

"But on a serious that's just how much I'm anticipating the call from him."

Kadi is well on course for promotion with Veria to the Greek Super League, with his team currently third on the log after 19 matches.
