World Bank suspends Mali aid

Washington - The World Bank and the African Development Bank announced on Thursday they were suspending their development aid to Mali after a coup d'etat ousted President Amadou Toumani Toure.

"Our development operations are suspended, with the exception of  emergency assistance," the two multilateral institutions said in a joint statement condemning the coup. - Sapa-AFP
