Nigeria’s CcHub Partners Tony Elumelu Foundation To Boost Social Tech Entrepreneurship

Co-Creation Hub, Nigeria's first technology innovation hub today announced that it has partnered with the Tony Elumelu Foundation (TEF) to encourage innovative ideas that could help transform the social technology space in Nigeria.

The partnership would see TEF providing managed seed funding to 20 technological ideas/ventures targeted at solving common social challenges within the country. CcHub, on its part, would incubate these funded social technology ventures through an array of business support resources.

The seed funding is expected to only support experimentation and prototype development, thus each venture should have the potential to become a self-sustaining profitable social enterprise.

The fund is currently supporting three social technology ventures, namely:

Efiko – a mobile testing platform that provides access to assessment and learning resources for secondary school students.

OfficeMotion — a software company developing a product called Traclist, a web platform that allows micro and small retailers to showcase their inventory over the Internet, thereby giving consumers access to their inventory from web browsers and mobile devices.

Varsoft — a product of Varsoft Technologies that enables content delivery without the use of the Internet targeted at congregational-type audiences such as churches, seminars, libraries etc.

According to the C0-Creation Hub, the fund aims to support the novel use of technology in several key areas of the economy including healthcare, education, agriculture, governance, inclusive technology, small business development, and finance.
