Job Title: Foreign Service National Investigator – FSN-08

Location: Abuja – Regional Security Office

Applicability: All Interested Candidates

WORK HOURS: Full-time; 40 hours/week

SALARY: OR – Ordinarily Resident–N3,228,903 p.a. (Starting basic Salary)

Position Grade: FSN- 08

In addition to the basic salary, all allowances will be paid in accordance with the Mission Local Compensation Plan.

NOR – AEFM – US$44,737;

EFM/MOH – US$38,394, (Starting Salary) p.a.

Position Grade: FP-06

Note: only U.S. Citizen eligible family members (USEFM) as Defined below of U.S. Government employees assigned to the Mission under chief of mission authority are eligible for Consideration. A U.S. Citizen EFM does not have to be Residing in country to be considered, but the sponsoring Officer under com authority does have to be officially Assigned to post.

BASIC FUNCTION OF THE POSITION:

Incumbent serves as an advisor to the Regional Security Office (RSO) on all matters of

security. In addition to conducting US Embassy job-related investigators, the incumbent

conducts sensitive criminal and consular fraud investigations. The incumbent maintains

regular liaison between US Embassy RSO and Abuja local police and other Government

of Nigeria (GON) security entities. The incumbent stays well-informed of all securityrelated

matters to provide up-to-date security briefings to new LES and to the RSO.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

NOTE: All applicants MUST address each selection criterion detailed below with

1. Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences is required.

2. Minimum of three (3) years of prior experience in a law enforcement office is

required.

3. Level IV (Fluent) Speaking/Reading in English is required.

Level III (Good working knowledge) Speaking/Reading in Hausa, Igbo or Yoruba

is required.

4. Advanced security and law enforcement experience in Nigeria as well as an

understanding of the security apparatus are required.

5. Candidate must possess a valid professional driver's license.

6. Candidate must possess ability to independently resolve discrepancies and

negative perceptions between Nigerian police/other GON security authorities and

the RSO/US Embassy.
