BENIN – AS campaign for the July 14, governorship election in Edo State hots up, Governor Adams Oshiomhole and other leaders of Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, in the state, weekend, stormed the one year birthday celebration anniversary of the twin children of a chieftain of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and business mogul, Captain Hosa Okunbor (rtd), to the chagrin of PDP leaders in the state, who shunned the event.

Vanguard gathered that the former chairman, Board of Trustees of the PDP, Chief Tony Anenih and other leaders of PDP in the state, who were expected to attend the event, shunned same, when they learnt that ACN leaders from the state were attending the occasion.

It will be recalled that Captain Okunbor backed Oshiomhole in 2007 but not too long ago, fell out with the governor on the issue of the Airport Road contract.

However, to the chagrin of PDP leaders in the state, at the Abuja birthday anniversary, the ACN leaders took over the event. It was gathered that Oshiomhole may be making effort to woo back the PDP leader, who gave him support during the 2007 back to the fold.
