Job Purpose/Scope: To ensure the implementation of maintenance activities (planned & unplanned), adequacy and safe use of electrical installation at the GSK AGBARA site

Key Responsibilities:

1) Work with internal customers to plan and scope the maintenance activities on electrical installations

2) Keep up to date with regulations and standards, both GSK internal and Nigeria regulatory, that are relevant to the safe use of electrical systems on site

3) Support Services in optimizing performance of Electrical generation and distribution systems

4) Ensure electrical standard are followed in new installations, plant modification and sustained on existing installation.

5) Provide electrical details and specification required for new projects.

6) Ensure electrical drawings are available, up to date and in good condition for electrical installations on site

7) Responsible for ensuring quality delivery in electrical installation for new projects

8) Enforce compliance to relevant GES on electrical system on site.

9) Support electrical need in the factories and offices.

10) Accountable for upkeep of UPS units, HV panels, LV panels and Distribution units across site.

11) Prepare and implement maintenance schedules on electrical systems

12) Manage day-to-day maintenance activities, liaising with contractors and the factory operations teams as necessary, ensuring no unplanned factory disruptions

13) To comply with site health, safety and environmental policy and with the site standards for work wear and actively support GMP requirements.

14) Develop project User Requirements Brief, specify plant and equipment to be used, when ever any electrical system needs to be replaced / upgraded

15) Develop Project Investment Proposals for Power distribution / expansion projects

16) Responsible to maintain all electrical systems by effective planning with operations / contractors

17) Responsible to support all project owners, by providing optimum recommendation for electrical components

Qualifications, Experience:   

1) B.Sc / HND in Electrical Engineering

2) Good communication and influencing skills, be able to motivate those working for him/her and must be able to make and implement decisions.

3) Working knowledge and experience of computer office programs, particularly Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint, AutoCAD and be prepared to be trained on other programs.

4) Working knowledge of the engineering standards and statutory requirements for plant, machinery and workplaces applicable to a large volume consumer products factory.

5) Continue his/her professional development according to Personal Development Plan agreed with Operation Engineering Manager and participate in other training as required.

Competencies:

1) Hands on experience of PLC (programmable Logic Control) and Automation

2) Good supervisory knowledge is essential

3) Customer focus and understanding the importance of delivering services safely and to cost, schedule and quality commitment

4) Knowledge on GMP requirements, GES and EHS practices

5) Ability to communicate at all levels within the organisation
