Description:

The successful candidate will work closely with Supply Chain as a R&D linkage to facilitate production & quality issues with the factory and integration center. This assignment will consist of:

1.      Interact with Electronic Manufacturing Service (EMS) suppliers through SC engineers to insure that products built by the EMS supplier meet technical and quality requirements;

2.      Support NPI production at EMS suppliers.  Provide feedback on NPI builds back to the appropriate R&D locations.

3.      Monitor quality performance at EMS suppliers through support of SC engineers to insure key quality indicators are at or above target.  Work with these suppliers to implement appropriate corrective actions and improve the product quality.

4.      Provide R&D, customer, and other type feedback to EMS suppliers so to improve product quality

Working with a global team across organizational boundaries is a must.

Key Responsibilities/Functions:

•   Request/support quality process audits and product quality audits on EMS suppliers as appropriate.

•   Set up cross functional teams with EMS suppliers to monitor performance and drive improvements.

•   Engage with MGR design organizations on New Product Introductions (NPI) to ensure products meet intended quality targets prior to volume manufacturing

•   Drive EMS suppliers to perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on customer and other type quality issues.  Insure appropriate corrective actions are implemented.

•   Lead Six Sigma, Lean and other type quality analysis and improvement teams in conjunction with suppliers.  

•   Analyze and track metrics, deliverables, quality, factory yield and return rates, etc. relative to supplier being managed in the SQIT.

•   Provide clear and concise reports to team and management on the supplier status

•   Communicate metrics and lead the MGR corporate initiative

•   Support PDC on contract changes for metrics initiative

Qualifications:

•   Bachelor's or higher degree in Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or other related engineering discipline

•   Strong knowledge of SMT manufacturing and other similar operations

•   Proficient in ISO 9000 and TL 9000

•   Experience as a lead auditor in conducting audits on SMT manufacturing processes.

•   Knowledgeable in IPC -610 standards.

•   Understanding of Customer Critical Issues (CCI) and defect management process

•   Minimum of 3-5 years working in ALU wireless technologies

•   Ability to work with geographically located teams with work hour flexibility

•   Language skills (French, German) to effectively communicate with European stake holders will be a definite plus.
