About the Job:

MICS is looking for a Consultant – Expert Financial Literacy and Entrepreneurship Development to provide trainings to target farmers and cooperatives.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

•   Develop training of trainers' manual on how to provide financial to target groups using international best practices;

•   Select participants to undergo the training of trainers program to subsequently serve as agricultural extension officers;

•   Provide selected agricultural cooperative leaders with the aforementioned services within a selected timeframe as well as periodic support throughout the length of the collaboration.

Qualifications:

•   Advanced Degree or equivalent in development studies, social sciences and humanities;

•   Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in microfinance related area such as financial literacy, rural finance, trainings, entrepreneurship skills building. An experience in Nigeria would be an advantage;

•   Knowledge of Agricultural finance;

•   Good organizational and interpersonal skills;

•   Excellent verbal and written communication skills;

•   Creativity and flexibility;

•   Strong interest in participatory development issues;

•   Good understanding of living and working in the developing world and having cross cultural sensitivities;

•   Fluency and strong writing skills in English (the knowledge of Igbo language is a plus but not a requirement).
