Job Description

Summary: Plan, direct, coordinate  and control the manufacturing and operations including machining, manpower, raw material and stores to ensure production of different varieties of IQF fruits and vegetables in the right quantity, at the right cost and at the right level of quality.

Expectation from the role:

a.    Strategic Planning

•   Develop and execute the yearly manufacturing plan to reach the business objectives related to production volume, cost and quality.

•   Assure attainment of business objectives and production schedules while ensuring product standards that exceed customer's expectation.

•   Make assessment of the manufacturing operations staffing and skill requirements and accordingly plans to address needs.

•   Plan the allocation of resources after establishing manufacturing priorities.

•   Establish and maintain standards of performance of the operations.

•   Initiate plans and processes which minimize manufacturing cost through effective utilization of manpower, equipment, facilities, material and capital.

•   Contribute effectively in annual business planning and budgeting of the manufacturing plant.

•   Confer with the senior management to ensure the business objectives are met.

•   Develop health and safety procedures and environment policies for the manufacturing facility.

•   Plan and certify the plant for HACCP environment certification process and other certifications like ISO 22000, EUROGAP, GMP etc.

b.    Operational Management

•   Coordinate setup and implement operating procedures for all production activities.

•   Liaise and coordinate with sales, procurement and other departments in the organization's supply chain network.

•   Ensure proper schedule is being kept to in line with company's policies, practices and procedures.

•   Make detailed reports for each cycle in the manufacturing process and track improvements in reduction of planned hours, increased efficiencies and profitability of the plant.

•   Supervise and direct the working of the staff part of the production process, establishing group and individual accountabilities (up-to date with latest production and production management concepts) and improve manpower utilization within existing departments and processes.

•   Continuously improve safety records by addressing both physical safety issues and employee safety attitudes. Maintain and improve housekeeping in all areas.

•   Manage spending against budget, controlling spending in relation to changes in production targets.

•   Perform regular audits regarding manufacturing capacity, size of the workforce and production specifications of the organization.

•   Ensure all deadlines are met with products produced on time, at the planned cost and quality standard.

•   Ensure that health and safety procedures and environment policies are followed and company guidelines are implemented.

•   Focus on fact based problem solving in case of any permanent or ad-hoc issues or breakdowns that may arise before, during and after the production process.

Experience:

•   5-10 years of production management experience in the IQF food and vegetables industry is a must

•   Experience in planning production schedules and directing and supervising manpower accordingly.

•   Extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes especially and related policies and procedures.

•   Strong in quality control and compliance.

•   Knowledge and experience of safe food handling

•   Knowledge and experience of HACCP environment, certification process and understanding of ISO 22000, EUROGAP, GMP etc.

Education:

•   Agriculture/production related graduation degree is a must.

•   Post-graduation diploma in food production related or equivalent professional qualification desirable.

•   Computer literacy and the ability to understand and use the full fleet of MS Office products (Word, Power Point, Excel etc.) is a must.
