The Metropolitan Archbishop of Lagos, Most Rev. Adewale Martins, has appealed to Nigerians to use the spirit of the festive season to embrace peace and pray for security and prosperity of the country.

Speaking during a Christmas dinner and award night organised by Directorate of Social Communications of Catholic Archdiocese of Lagos, Martins advised Nigerians to avoid acrimony, bitterness, and conflicts and embrace unity and peaceful co-existence. He added that it will be a great value if Nigerians approached the new year with positive mindset.

"Nigerians should put behind them acrimony, bitterness, conflicts and disappointment that we have experienced this year so that we can approach the New Year with a positive mindset towards individual and country as a whole", he said.
