Roma say they hope to move into a new stadium in the south-west of Rome within the next four years.
The Serie A club - who currently share the publicly-owned Stadio Olympia with city rivals Lazio - want to move to their own ground in order to boost revenue.
They will become only the second club in the Italian top flight to own their stadium, with Juventus having constructed a 41,000-seat home after deciding that they no longer wanted to share the Stadio delle Alpi with Torino.
