The Global South Workshop is a programme designed to enable PhD students from universities in the South, selected on the basis of a sound and high-quality application, to participate, all expenses paid, in a week-long workshop during which they get the opportunity to present and discuss their research in the presence of professors and PhD candidates from the Institute.

This programme is intended to facilitate intellectual exchanges among graduates from the South and the development of a network of young graduates from universities in the North and in the South. In 2009, the Institute received 140 applications and selected 16 participants.
