Imo State Football Association is unlikely to meet the January ending deadline given by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) for them to conduct elections into the executive board of the association, if the words of the FA secretary, Ndudi Ibe are anything to go by.

The Imo FA election was to have been conducted on Saturday, January 22 at the Dan Anyiam stadium, Owerri but for the late minute state government stoppage of the poll due to what it termed an unfavourable security report.

Besides, the amount demanded for nomination forms was condemned by many stakeholders as unnecessarily high and which not only heated the polity but prevented many aspirants from participating in the elections. The amount required for chairmanship position was N200, 000.00; vice chairman N100, 000.00 while ordinary members were made to cough up N30, 000.00 respectively.
