News Flash - Oyo Govt distributes vehicles to education inspectors

Oyo State Government has distributed 10 vehicles to Local Inspectors of Education (LIEs) from 10 local government areas in the state as part of its commitment to strengthening the inspectorate division of the education sector in the state.

Governor Abiola Ajimobi, while presenting the vehicles to the LIEs at the state secretariat at the weekend, said that the remaining 23 LIEs would receive theirs very soon.

The beneficiaries were LIEs from Ibadan North-East, Ibadan North, Ibadan North-West, Ibadan South-East, Ibadan South-West, Akinyele, Egbeda, Afijio, Atiba and Oyo West Local Government Areas.

Governor Ajimobi, who was represented at the occasion by the state commissioner for education, Adetokunbo Fayokun, said that his administration is poised to ensuring a total transformation of the education sector. This, he said, informed the need to strengthen the inspectorate division through the provision of necessary logistics to the local inspectors of education for school monitoring and supervision.

Fayokun charged the local inspectors of education to work diligently so as to ensure a total turn-around of the education sector.

Responding on behalf of others, Yetunde Fatoki, the LIE for Ibadan North-East Local Government, commended the state government for its commitment to the repositioning of the education sector, pledging that the vehicles would be used for the purpose meant.
