Nigeria supports troubled Odemwingie

The Nigeria Football Federation has expressed empathy and support for stricker, Peter Osaze Odemwingie in his trying time at English Premiership side, West Bromwich Albion.

Odemwingie tried effortlessly to force a switch to struggling English Premiership side, Queens Park Rangers on deadline day of mid-season transfer window on Thursday.

NFF President, Alhaji Aminu Maigari said in Johannesburg on Friday that the federation is fully behind the player and would do everything to comfort him in the circumstance.

'' Osaze Odemwingie is our international player and at every point in time, we must be seen to care for the interest and welfare of our international players. He is in a situation with his club, West Brom, at this period but we are fully behind him and we want him to know that we wish him well and we comfort him ''.

The stricker played for Nigeria at the 2004, 2006, 2008 and 2010 Africa Cup of Nations  and at the 2010 Fifa World Cup finals.
