Super Eagles defender Godfrey Oboabona was happy to be proved right last night after his team defeated a star-spangled Cote d'Ivoire side to reach the semi-finals of the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.
.
The young Sunshine Stars centre-back had boasted before the match that he was not intimidated by the Cote d'Ivoire's big names. And he was in magnificent form last night in Rustenburg as Didier Drogba, Gervinho and Salomon Kalou hardly had the sight of goal.
.
'' I'm so happy we beat them '', he said moments after the match at the Royal Bafokeng Sports Palace. '' It was a very tough game but we were determined to win and we did ''.
.
'' I said i wasn't afraid of big names before the game. I respect Drogba and the rest of them but i played against Xavi, Busquets and other superstars before. I'm happy you've seen that it's not just about big names ''.

l like Keshi initiative of including home based players to the squad. it doesn't always have to big names or foreigner based players. If the home based players are good, use them. Oboabona was at his best. He (Oboabona) was preferred to Yobo.
