Disu hails Goodluck Jonathan on Eagles largesse

Erstwhile Super Eagles player, Tajudeen Disu has described the victorious coach Stephen Keshi led team at the just concluded Africa Cup of Nations as a feat of national rebirth, which will open a new era for the nation in the field of sports.

Disu, commended the entire squad for their patriotic outing amidst criticisms in the early stage of the competition, as they proved critics wrong at the end of the day.

He however expressed gratitude to President Goodluck Jonathan for the national honours and rewards accorded to the team and opined that it will spur them to doing more for the country in future tournaments.

"This Africa Cup of Nation victory will be a feat of national rebirth of sports in the country and it will open a new era too.

"The team has done a great job amidst numerous criticisms at the early stage of the competition, by showing high level of patriotism and proving their critics wrong.

"All the rewards and accolades to them have been a great gesture from the President which will help in giving their all in subsequent national engagements.

Disu also urged coach Stephen Keshi to ignore distractions and remain focused on his quest of taking the team to greater heights.

"Keshi should strive and do more for Nigeria. Let him keep the boys together and look for hungry players that will compete with the heroes. He should not be deterred because he has won the hearts of many Nigerians" he concluded.
