The Isaac Adaka Boro College of Education and teachers training Institute in Sagbama Local Government Area of Bayelsa State are to commence academic activities by May this year.

Governor Seriake Dickson gave the indication when he paid an unscheduled visit to the sites of two Institutions to ascertain the level of work done on ongoing projects.

At the teachers training institute, Bolou-Orua, Governor Dickson directed the Education Commissioner, Hon. Salo Adikumo to speedily renovate another six-classroom block at the community secondary school where the facility is sited to provide additional classrooms for the Institute.

The commissioner was also told to liaise with his lands and survey counterpart to acquire more land near the school to enable Government build other befitting structures such as hostel blocks, refectory, recreational facilities and residential accommodation for Canadian and other qualified indigenous lecturers.

Earlier, while addressing the chiefs and people of Bolou-Orua Community, Hon. Dickson noted that his administration attaches high premium to teacher education,noting that government's ambition is to provide quality education, which may not be actualized in the absence or lack of competent teaching staff.

He commended the people for their abiding support right from his days in the House of Representatives to date and for cooperating with the contractors, adding that government has not received any adverse reports since the commencement of the projects in the community.

Responding, spokesman of the community, Mr. Godwill Akpoebi Edorge expressed delight over the visit and praised the governor for putting up an impressive performance within his one year in office.

The community also pledged their unflinching support for the programmes and policies of the government.

The Governor was accompanied on the visit by the Commissioner for Education, Hon. Salo Adikumo, Executive Secretary of the State Universal Basic Education Commission, Comrade Walton Liverpool, Chairman of tge State scholarship board, Evangelist Forster Ogola among other government functionaries.
