Job description:

Experienced Geophysicists required for a rapidly expanding office in Lagos, Nigeria.

Our client are a consultancy that are aiming to cover every facet of the E&P field development life cycle, something not provided by any consultancy to date.

They have recently won another full field development project to add to their already busy workload, and therefore need a few more Geophysicists, Petrophysicists and Geoscientists to join their existing Wells and Subsurface group.

The successful applicants will enjoy working on a diverse array of projects, both technically and geographically, as well as be involved in the training and mentoring of more junior staff.

As a geophysicist you should have at least 2-3 years of relevant experience. A good understanding of and willingness to integrate with other subsurface disciplines is required. You should be a motivated self-starter in addition to possessing good written and verbal communication skills.

The majority of their geophysicists fall within the category of seismic interpreter/geologist. Dependent on job level and experience a seismic interpreter typically is entirely or to some degree familiar with various E&P arenas around the world and their exploration plays and field development challenges. You would have detailed knowledge of seismic interpretation and its pitfalls, including attribute analysis and depth conversion methodologies. You should also have an awareness of seismic processing and acquisition.

Geophysicists with appropriate experience could be a project manager of one or more of the ongoing integrated projects and be responsible for communication with client and on time project delivery within budget.

Skills and experience:

•   Experience from 3-10 years

•   Seismic interpretation skills in Petrel and Kingdom

•   Familiarity /awareness varied E&P settings (dependent on experience level

•   Good written and verbal technical English

•   Strong analytical and communication skills

•   Enjoy working in a multi-disciplinary team environment
