Federal Scholarship Board offers Bilateral Educational Agreement (BEA) scholarship for Nigerian students under the Federal Government scholarship scheme. The scholarship offered for undergraduate and postgraduate program, ranges from 4- 9 years depending on the level of study and the country. The scholarship can be tenable in Russia, China, Morocco, Turkey, Algeria, Romania, Serbia, Japan, Ukraine, Cuba, Greece, Czech Republic, Syria, Macedonia, Mexico, Egypt, and Tunisia etc. Applications should be submitted before the interview which will be held at different venues and dates from March 18th to 22nd March 2013.

Study Subject(s): Undergraduate level – medicine, paramedical, engineering, geology, agriculture, sciences, mathematics, languages, environmental sciences, sports, law, social sciences, etc. Postgraduate level (master's degree and PhD) in all fields. Course Level: The awards are for undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) studies. Scholarship Provider: The Federal Scholarship Board, Nigeria Scholarship can be taken at: Bilateral Educational Agreement (BEA) Scholarship Award is tenable in Russia, China, Morocco, Turkey, Algeria, Romania, Serbia, Japan, Ukraine, Cuba, Greece, Czech Republic, Syria, Macedonia, Mexico, Egypt, Tunisia etc.

Eligibility: Postgraduate Applicants should: -Possess university degree with a minimum of Second Class Honours Upper  Division -Should not be more than 35 years of Age at the time of taking up the award -Possess a certificate obtained not more than 5 year at date of application -Possess NYSC/Exemption certificate (where applicable) -Should have not less than two (2) years post qualification experience -Should provide willingness of employer to release applicant (where applicable) Undergraduate: -Candidate must possess at least A or B grades in five relevant subjects including English and Mathematics at one sitting. -Qualifying Certificate – (WASC or NECO) only. -Candidate must be between 17-23 years old at the time of taking up the award. -Certificate must not be more than 3 years old at time of application. NOTE: All applicants Undergraduate and Post Graduate should provide Medical Certificate of Fitness from a government hospital (including HIV/Hepatitis B free examination result) and Police Clearance Certificate including finger prints.

Scholarship Open for Students of Following Countries: Nigerian students can apply for the scholarship.

Scholarship Description: Bilateral Educational Agreement (BEA) Awards are scholarship awards made to eligible Nigerian youths after due process by development partners who have entered into Bilateral Educational agreement with Nigeria. These offers could be at the Undergraduate or Post Graduate or both levels as the case may be. The duration of the scholarship offer ranges from 4- 9 years depending on the level of study and the country. In Bilateral Educational Agreement countries, Awardees study the language of the country in their first Year and this constitutes the language of instruction throughout their study. It is pertinent to state that performance in the language course determines the continuation of the course of study for which the award has been made.

Duration of award(s): The duration of the scholarship offer ranges from 4- 9 years depending on the level of study and the country.

What does it cover? These countries are responsible for the tuition and accommodation, while Nigeria government takes care of the following: -$500 monthly for supplementation -$250 yearly for warm clothing -$200 yearly for Health Insurance -$500 yearly for medical scholars only -$1000 for PG research grant yearly were applicable -N100,000 – Take off for PG scholars were applicable -N60,000 – Take off for UG scholars were applicable.

How to Apply: All eligible applicants are to report for interview at the venues nearest to them as scheduled for their respective states of origin. Two sets of completed application forms should be submitted at the various interview centres with the following attachments: -Two authenticated photocopies of Educational Certificates and Testimonial, -Only one Certificate will be accepted ie WAEC or NECO, -Statement of results must be confirmed by WAEC or NECO and forwarded to the Director/ Secretary, Federal Scholarship Board, Abuja, -Two copies of Birth Certificate, -State of Origin Certificate duly signed, stamped and dated, -Eight (8) passport  sized colour photographs on white background, -Medical Certificate of  Fitness including HIV /AIDS, and Hepatitis B free Certificates obtained from  a  Teaching Hospital, General Hospital or National Hospital, Abuja, -Police Clearance Certificate including finger prints from the Police Station nearest to Place of Residence, -Data page of current International Passport, and -Academic transcripts and NYSC certificate will be required from applicants for postgraduate studies.

Scholarship Application Deadline: Applications should be submitted before the interview. 2013/2014 BEA interview will be held at different venues and dates from March 18th to 22nd March 2013.
