Sporting Braga's Nigerian left back, Elderson Echiejile, believes the Harambee Stars of Kenya will be put to the sword when both teams clash in a World Cup qualifier on March 23 in Calabar.

Echiejile who returned to Braga's starting line-up in Monday night's lone goal win over Olhanense believes that the senior national team recent triumph at the AFCON has won back the Nigerians fans saying they are ready to build on the momentum.

"Kenya must fall and to achieve that, we must continue with the way we played all our games at the Nations Cup," the former Stade Rennes began.

"We have some great players and the experience to take on strong teams in international matches and anything short of an outright win would be unacceptable. To lose an international match at home henceforth... God forbid."

"We have the fans behind us now due to our exploits in South Africa and we will ensure that they continue to get good football and convincing wins in return," he promised.

The former Stade Rennes defender who scored his first goal for the national team in the semi-final clash against Mali in South Africa was optimistic of his Portuguese side, Malaga, qualifying for next season's Europa league competition despite being one point adrift Paços de Ferreira who occupy third spot with 38 points.

"It was great returning to action and helping my team get a win. We have no choice but to try and finish above them to play in the Europa league next season."

Uwa has played 11 games for fourth placed Braga who host Marítimo next in this weekend's fixture.
