Kano Pillars set to demolish AC Leopards

Kano Pillars' head coach, Baba Ganaru is confident that his wards' opening day win at Wikki Tourists in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) will help them in this weekend's Caf Champions League duel against AC Leopards.

The Kano club, who are the current Nigerian champions, began the defence of their title last Sunday in Bauchi beating their hosts, Wikki Tourists 1-0.

The Sai Masugida go into the encounter with confidence having qualified for the next round of the Caf Champions League beating Central Africa Republic champions, Olympique du Bangui 5-1 on aggregate.

Ganaru has now voiced out to supersport.com that last year's Caf Confederation cup winners, AC Leopards would be taught some football lessons at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kofarmata, Kano this Saturday.

"Our spirit is high now I must tell you as we want our winning momentum to continue against them (AC Leopards) on Saturday at home.

"The away victory we got in Bauchi will also boost our morale to face our foes from Congo," said Ganaru.

The former El-Kanemi Warriors' manager is, however, unperturbed with the current status of their foes.

"We have no business with their status as the Confederation Cup champions, all we need is to score as many goals for us to take the return leg beyond them," he explained to supersport.com.
