Kano Pllars midfielder Reuben Gabriel who sat all through the African Cup of Nations in South Africa has vowed to regain his position in the starting line-up of the Super Eagles.
.
Reuben who lost his place in the team after he sustained an injury playing for his Nigerian Premier League side Kano Pillars last year also suffered a chicken pox attack at the Super Eagles camp in Faro, Portugal.
.
Now the midfielder says he is back and better and raring to regain his place in the starting 11 of the Super Eagles, noting that all he needs is a slight opportunity to show his new form and then see how it goes.
.
"That injury was a massive setback for me but I am back to my best and would want to see if the coaches are convinced to give me another chance to prove my self," he told Complete Sports. "I know there are good players in the Eagles squad now but I am optimistic I can play.
.
"I know it will not be easy to break into a winning side that we witnessed at the AFCON in South Africa but I am very determined to fight for a place in the Eagles and if I do get a chance again I would hold tight to it."
.
On the World Cup qualifier against Kenya in Calabar on March 23, Gabriel said it will not be easy but stated that the Super Eagles would go all out to ensure that Kenyans are beaten.
