CAF election is a big experience - Mike Umeh

Despite losing the chance to be elected into the executive board of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), vice-chairman of Nigeria Football Federation, Chief Mike Umeh, has praised the effort of Alhaji Aminu Maigari for his participation in the election held at the weekend.

Benin Republic's Moucharafou Anjorin, defeated Maigari 19-35 in the elections, which were conducted at the Palais De Congrais in Marrakech, Morocco on Sunday.

But Umeh, a former Super Eagles manager, says it was another experience that will help the NFF boss to understand the politics of African football the more.

"The fact that we did not win the election does not mean that we have recorded a total loss, no," Umeh said. "It is a new experience for us and I am sure that it is going to help us to understand the game better and if we have another opportunity in future, we will see how it will be handled."

Chief Umeh who was one of the country's representatives at the CAF elections held in Morocco said the Federation has put the election behind it and looking forward to improving the country's football.
