Role Summary/Purpose:  – The IT Infrastructure leader will have Strategic & Operational responsibilities for the definition & delivery of IT services with particular focus on Nigeria & West Africa.  – He will serve as key IT liaison/single point of contact to functional & business leaders in Nigeria, work collaboratively with the wider GE IT functions to deliver world-class IT operations & end user support. He will capture IT infrastructure needs, direct & manage all aspects of planning & delivery of technology solutions

Essential Responsibilities   Country IT Strategy

• Lead the definition and execution of technology strategy for GE multi-modal facilities in Nigeria and West Africa, in alignment with GE's global infrastructure teams' directions

• Understand GE growth plans in Nigeria and other West Africa countries

• Develop cultural understanding in depth understanding of IT regulatory framework

• Develop in depth relationships with IT suppliers/providers

• Keep up to date with changes to service offerings, technical capabilities and regulatory changes

• Identify opportunities to share best practices and reuse solutions from other regions, GE businesses and external businesses

• Communicate and educate regional business leaders on IT solutions, capabilities and costs

• Lead the definition and execution of technology strategy for GE in Nigeria and West Africa, in alignment with systems/application needs, GE global infrastructure teams' directions and with Global Growth and Operations business plans

• Provide visible leadership with GE businesses in Nigeria to define the appropriate technology roadmap to meet regional business needs

• Anticipate and react to major technology changes, leveraging global and regional capabilities to ensure competitiveness of GE in Africa

IT Operations

• Develop deep relationships with GIS service provider team, and GIS in-country suppliers/vendors

• Responsible for managing Incident / Problem / Change relating to GIS services in the region

• Manage the delivery of GIS infrastructure solutions

• Become the GIS technical expert for regional solution

• Manage budgets and contracts associated with program(s) or initiative(s)

• Support, advise, assist, guide and resolve infrastructure problems for client leaders and users

• Work as a business partner with client leaders and users to evaluate / improve business processes with cost effective infrastructure solutions

• Lead and or support other SSA IT initiatives as identified by regional CIO

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Demonstrated existing knowledge of IT capabilities and demonstrated experience of providing IT solutions in Africa

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or Computer Science

• Prior experience with process quality methodology or infrastructure technologies (compute, database, network, etc.)

• Strong program management skills including project initiation, scoping, resourcing, scheduling, budgeting, risk management and communication

• Ability to deliver compliance requirements and to excel in a global matrix organization

• Ability to learn complex systems and business processes and define requirements for solutions

Desired Characteristics:

• Demonstrated program management skills including project initiation, scoping, resorting, scheduling, budgeting, risk management and communication

• Experience delivering world class IT Operations and support, including Held Desk and End User support services.

• Awareness of and ability to deliver to compliance requirements.

• Demonstrated ability to manage remote partners/vendors, vendor quality and output.

• Demonstrated ability to excel in a global matrix organization.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to interface and influence at all levels in the organization.
