Victor Wanyama now part of Kenya clash

Celtic midfielder, Victor Wanyama has been included in Kenya's 19-man squad for the 2014 Fifa World Cup qualifier against African champions, Nigeria.

Wanyama had been identified as a doubt for the game after he pulled a thigh muscle during Celtic's Uefa Champions League defeat at Juventus on March 6.

Wanyama has now shrugged off the injury and is included in the Harambee Stars squad alongside captain, Dennis Oliech.

Head coach of the Kenyan team, Adel Amrouche released the line-up on Monday ahead of his maiden match in charge with the team.

David Gateri (Salt River Black Pool, SA), Brian Mandela (Santos, SA), Arnold Origi (Lillestrom, Norway), Johanna Omolo (Bierschott, Belgium) and Jamal Mohammed (Al Nasr, Oman) are the other foreign-based players who made the final squad.

Meanwhile, Nigeria defender, Azubuike Egwuekwe does not believe Wanyama's presence will rob the Super Eagles of victory on Saturday.

"He (Wanyama) is a good player but nobody in our team is worried by his inclusion. We also have a lot of excellent players in this (Nigeria) team too. I am sure we will win whether or not Wanyama plays," Egwuekwe said.
