Ogun State - Attorney General Pledges To Make Her Mark, Calls For Co-Operation

Ogun State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Mrs. Abimbola Akeredolu has promised to justify the confidence reposed in her by Governor Ibikunle Amosun for making her the first female occupant of the office in the 37 year old State.Akeredolu said she intended to do this by taking the Ministry which had over the years been dominated by the males to the next level in terms of administration of justice in the State.     The Attorney-General made her feelings known at the Ministry’s conference room during her maiden meeting with members of staff.She said as the first woman to occupy the position, all eyes would be on her to perform and even excel beyond her 15 predecessors, calling for their hands of fellowship to support her in this regard.“Legal practice as you all know is male-dominated, I am more than prepared as the first female Attorney-General to make my mark in the Ministry, but this cannot be achieved single handedly, it has to be a team work.     I therefore call on you to join me in making this dream a reality” Akeredolu pleaded She implored the members of staff to put in their best, and not to think about what the State could do for them but what they can do to make it better for all and sundry. Responding on behalf of other members of staff, the Director of Administration and Supplies of the Ministry, Mr. Oyebaji Omoniyi appreciated the Attorney–General for words of encouragement, promising that the staff were ready to work and give her support to enhance service delivery by the Ministry.
