Job description:

•   Supervision of the subsurface team consisting of geoscience and reservoir capabilities.

•   Deliver field development plans.

•   Ensure regulatory compliance.

•   Develop internal geoscience and petroleum engineering capabilities through recruitment and training.

•   Represent the company externally as a technical expert with; government, partners and industry.

•   Deliver production optimization and enhancement programs.

•   Provide production forecast and reserves for Nigeria assets.

•   Recommendation and management of external studies as required.

•   Application of the latest technology to field evaluations by construction of accurate & representative static and dynamic simulation models.

•   Assist the asset teams on subsurface matters.

•   Coordinate and deliver resource maturation and field development plans.

•   Ensure that high quality seismic interpretation is integrated into projects.

•   Initiate and participate in internal/external subsurface studies.

•   Monitor drilling activity and work with drilling and operation team members to ensure goals are met.

•   Prepare field studies including estimates of fluid contacts, reservoir distribution and structural configuration.

•   Recommend and manage contracted studies of fields, integrating all geologic and reservoir data to build reservoir descriptions.

•   Prepare/maintain static geologic models for assigned fields that include structural configuration and reservoir distribution for field development planning and volumetric assessment.

Requirements:

•   Minimum B.Sc in Engineering / M.Sc. in Petroleum Engineering preferred

•   Minimum 15 years in E & P, 10 years subsurface, 5 years supervisory, 8 years with E & P operator.

•   Proven management, leadership & technical skills across the geosciences, petroleum engineering and multi-disciplinary teams.

•   Strong understanding of recovery mechanisms(primary, secondary, CO2, compositional, thermal).

•   Ever challenging reservoir development problems ( voidage balance, gas storage/cycling & injection, multi-zone differential depletion, horizontal wells).

•   Coupled and integrated reservoir modelling (IPM, IFM, Resolve, Parallel Simulation ) capability, including proficiency with the Eclipse workstation & building dynamic simulation models, Petrel proficiency.

•   Strong background in reserves estimation and categorization.

•   Capable of evaluating risks, uncertainty, value of information, project economics.

•   Strong understanding of variety of fluid types, ideally in both classic and carbonate reservoirs.

•   Extensive experience using subsurface data to recommend and plan new well locations.

•   Knowledge of core analysis, formation logging and petrophysical analysis.

•   Experience developing, coaching and mentoring staff. A collaborative and adaptive working style.

•   Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills.

•   Strong business and commercial awareness, including a negotiating & influencing capability.

•   Analysis, problem solving, planning including risk assessment and mitigation.

•   The ability to work independently, can meet strict deadlines with a strong delivery focus.

•   Build and maintain business relationships, internally and externally including JV technical management.

•   Proficiency with MS office suite-Excel/Powerpoint/word.
