My client in Nigeria is an operator seeking a Principal Civil and Marine Engineer to start ASAP on a 12 months contract most likely on a 6×2 rotation

The Engineer will act as guardian of the defined design envelopes of plant and equipment with respect to hull, and mooring systems for FPSOs and offloading systems in the offshore area of Shell inNigeria.

Accountabilities:

Responsible for

=>Preparation of work scope and liaising with the design contractors for the design of hull, mooring and riser systems for new FPSO and Calm Buoys.
  • Coach any assigned offshore discipline engineer
  • Networks with Discipline Heads and Asset and Project engineering Leads and Project Engineers within SNEPCO for successful execution of projects.

  • Prepare work scope for FEED design of hulls, mooring and offloading systems for Bonga North Project.
  • Responsible for the execution of the FEED and detailed design for hulls, mooring and offloading systems.
  • Carry out review of FEED and detailed design deliverables for the hull and mooring systems

    - Specify requirements for fabrication, installation and precommissioning.

    - Make input into technical specifications for hulls and mooring systems.
  • Other Accountabilities

    - Participate in design reviews, audits and other structural-related reviews.

    - Train junior engineers and engineers new to marine design and construction.
Experience & Qualifications:

B.Sc./B.Eng in structural engineering, marine engineering or naval architecture with a minimum of 15 years' offshore engineering experience incorporating the following:  – A minimum of 5 years' in FPSO and marine design experience at level for detailed designs of hull and/or mooring systems  – A minimum of 8 years' in marine construction experience at level for detailed designs of hull and/or mooring systems  – A good understanding of Industry, DEPs and Shell Design Standards with the ability to challenge standards and current engineering practices  – Proven ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team as well and to work independently with a minimum of supervision. The hull and marine engineer must have knowledge/skill level in HSSE and applications within the Oil and gas Industry.  – Working knowledge of a global motion analyses software is mandatory:  – Working knowledge of SACS, USFOS and COSMOS will be an advantage.
