We Are Not Under Kenya Pressure - Austin Ejide

Super Eagles goalkeeper, Austin Ejide, has said the senior national team players are not under any pressure to subdue Harambee Stars of Kenya in tomorrow's 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifier.

Ejide who is on the payroll of Israeli side, Hapoel Be'er Sheva, spoke to Complete Sports from the team's camp in Calabar on Wednesday.

"Everything is okay here. The atmosphere in camp is wonderful and we're looking forward to the match on Saturday," starts the former Etoile Du Sahel of Tunisia shot-stopper.

"We're not under any form of pressure, but we are concentrating and focusing on the game knowing its importance to our collective aspiration to qualify for the World Cup."

"You know, as newly crowned African champions, the game will be another test of our quality and credentials, and we're prepared to give it our all."

For the first time, all invited foreign based players met the arrival deadline set by Head Coach, Stephen Keshi and Ejide adds that it was a sign of total commitment to ensure victory.

"This is our first game after we won the AFCON last month in South Africa. So we don't want to rubbish our AFCON win, hence, all the players resolved to be in camp early enough to ensure that we win."

Cross River State governor, Liyel Imoke, on Wednesday received and rewarded members of the victorious 2013 AFCON winning Super Eagles in Calabar.

Governor Imoke announced a donation of N25 million to the team and a plot of land to the players at a choice area in the State capital and Ejide who is one of the beneficiaries heaped praises on the governor for the gesture.

"That's very kind of him. He has been a good supporter of the team and played pivotal role in our qualification race for the Nations Cup."

"We can't thank him enough and I think one of the ways we can show our deep appreciation is to win and win well against Kenya," he states.
