Objectives of the role: The role of the Works and Supply Contracts Manager will be to prepare invitation to tender for works and supplies and to provide support to the NAO for their contracting to EC standards, finally overseeing each contract's mobilizing, successful delivery to contract terms and contract closure.

Length of the project: 48 months

Start Date: June 2013

Duties and Responsibilities:

•   In collaboration with the team and Local Government Authorities, draft invitations to tender for works and supplies contracts to EC standards

•   Support the NAO in the contracting of successful tenders to EC standards

•   Oversee the mobilization of contractors, constructions and staged disbursements

•   Monitor commissioning and acceptance of Works and Supplies by NAO and the LGAs and communities

•   Provide training to Project Implementation Committees in the communities in matters regarding contract administration to EC standards

•   Provide other support to the team effort as requested by the Team Leader

•   Contribute to efforts in meeting donor reporting requirements as well as reporting to DAI home office

Key Skills & Qualifications:

•   10 years' general experience in contracts management

•   At least 4 years' experience of working on EC funded projects as a Works and Supply Contracts Manager

•   Experience in grants management under EDF projects would be a distinct advantage

•   Experience of working in Nigeria and/or West Africa

•   Excellent communication skills

•   Fluency in English (both written and oral) is essential

Education: An advanced degree in Finance, Business Administration, Public Administration, Economics or relevant field
